Frequently asked questions
Shipping, returns, and the safety questions worth asking before you take anything. If your question isn't here, get in touch.
Orders & shipping
Where do you ship?
We ship within the United States only, including PO boxes and APO/FPO addresses where the carrier allows. We don't ship internationally and we don't ship to freight forwarders. If you place an order to an address we can't serve, we'll contact you and refund it in full.
How quickly will my order ship?
Orders are picked, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1–2 business days, excluding weekends and public holidays. Orders placed late in the day are processed the next business day. Carrier transit time is on top of that — the estimate shown at checkout doesn't include processing.
How much is shipping?
Free standard shipping on orders over $50 before tax. Below that, a flat standard rate is calculated at checkout. Expedited options, where offered, are priced at checkout.
How do I track my order?
You'll get a shipping confirmation with a tracking number when your order leaves the warehouse. Tracking can take up to 24 hours to show any activity — a number showing nothing usually just means the carrier hasn't scanned the package yet. If tracking hasn't updated for more than three business days, email hello@puritasmedicine.com.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Email hello@puritasmedicine.com with your order number as soon as you can. Orders move to fulfilment quickly and we can't promise to catch one before it ships, but anything that hasn't shipped can be cancelled for a full refund.
Returns & refunds
What's your return policy?
Unopened, unused products in their original sealed packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the product price. Email us first and we'll send a return authorization — returns sent without one may not be refunded, because we can't match them to an order. Return shipping is at your cost unless the mistake was ours.
Can I return a product I've already opened?
No. For health and safety reasons we can't accept any supplement whose seal has been broken, and we can't resell a product that has left our control. That's standard practice across the supplement industry and it protects everyone who buys after you. It doesn't limit your rights if a product is faulty, contaminated, mislabelled, or not what you ordered.
What if my order arrives damaged, wrong, or defective?
We fix it at our cost — a replacement or a full refund including shipping, whichever you prefer, and you won't be asked to pay return postage. Contact hello@puritasmedicine.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photographs of the product and packaging.
How long do refunds take?
We inspect returns when they arrive and email you the outcome within 5 business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method — we can't refund to a different card — and then take a further 5 to 10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.
Do you do exchanges?
Not directly. Return the unopened product for a refund and place a new order for what you want, so you're not waiting on our inspection before the replacement ships. Where the mistake was ours, we send the correct product immediately at no cost.
About botanicals
What does a standardized extract mean?
A standardized extract is processed so that each batch contains a consistent, measured amount of a marker compound — the curcuminoids in turmeric, for example, or the withanolides in ashwagandha. Raw dried herb varies enormously between harvests depending on soil, weather, and which part of the plant was used. Standardization is what makes one capsule comparable to the next.
How long do botanicals take to work?
It varies by botanical and by person, and some of what's studied is measured over weeks rather than days. Follow the directions on the label rather than increasing the amount to speed things up. If you notice nothing over a reasonable period, stop — and if you're taking something for a specific health concern, that's a conversation to have with your clinician rather than a label.
Can botanicals interfere with my medication?
Yes, and this matters more with herbs than with most vitamins. Botanicals contain active compounds that can change how quickly your body processes a drug, which can make a prescription stronger or weaker than intended. Milk thistle and turmeric both have documented interactions. If you take any prescription medication, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting a botanical.
How should I store these?
Keep them sealed in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight and away from heat — light and humidity degrade plant compounds faster than they do most vitamins. A bathroom cabinet is one of the worst places for them. Don't use a product past the best-before date printed on the container, and keep gummies somewhere cool so they don't fuse together.
Safety & regulation
Are these products approved by the FDA?
No, and no dietary supplement is — the FDA does not approve dietary supplements before they go on sale. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Should I check with a doctor before taking these?
Yes, if you're pregnant or nursing, under 18, managing a medical condition, scheduled for surgery, or taking prescription medication. Several botanicals affect bleeding and are worth stopping before an operation. Nothing on this site is medical advice: talk to your clinician before starting anything new.
What should I do if I have a reaction to a product?
Stop taking it. If it's a medical emergency, call 911. Otherwise email safety@puritasmedicine.com with the product name, the lot number from the container if you have it, and what happened, and we'll take it from there.
